Benetti Oasis 40 metre pioneers casual luxury with an infinity pool
Luxury and innovation are words that often get thrown around superyachting circles. This time though it seems Italian boat maker Benetti has gotten the formula just right by using a design execution that is counterintuitively more relaxed. The result is the brand new Benetti Oasis 40M, a dynamic vessel that takes pride in its delivery of casual functionality, comfort and fun.
A captivating silhouette at 40 metres
Undoubtedly, the most striking cue for any luxury superyacht is its exterior profile. UK-based design firm RWD has been making yachts since 1993. Since partnering with Benetti, the union has seen award-winning works of art for the sea while simultaneously raising RWD’s reputation as a world-leading boat designer.
The fruits of this relationship are on full display in the Benetti Oasis 40M, a yacht which is crafted entirely from fibreglass to reduce weight and retain structural integrity. It’s also one of the first yachts of its kind to feature a beach area and infinity pool for a vessel of this size. The beach platform is finished in teak wood with side wings that can open and extend to maximise floor space. This feature essentially turns the beach into a lounge and terrace that overlooks the surrounding natural scenery.
This in-built beach club was designed to give owners and guests direct and intimate access to the sea without the constraints of larger yachts. In the Oasis 40M, smaller tender vessels and water toys are carefully stowed away in the side and forward garages.
Ocean home away from home
With RWD looking after the British aesthetic on the outside, it was up to New York firm Bonetti/Kozerski Architecture to tend to the minimalist interior design and fit-out. The liberal use of clean flowing lines and natural wood finishing comes second only to the main and upper deck which harness natural light from the large windows as a design element. It’s an unconventional layout of interior space which is paired with the Oasis 40M’s appreciation for nature. The homeliness aspect is further reinforced with past projects from Bonetti/Kozerski Architecture that includes Donna Karan showrooms, Ian Schrager’s boutique hotel and the Pace Gallery in New York City.
The Benetti Oasis 40M features accommodation for up to 10 people across five cabins. There’s also accommodation for up to nine crew members across five cabins.
