What makes a great community?
Like everything, people’s perception of what makes a great community changes. In the context of planning a large-scale master-planned community, it’s no longer suitable for a developer to provide blocks of land, good roads and access to basic utilities.
Nowadays, as the lifestyles of our buyers constantly improve, their expectations continually increase. Buyers look for developments where they can easily engage and interact with their neighbours. They seek almost resort-style facilities and amenities including pools, cafes, retail, parklands and green spaces, as well as sporting facilities, schools and community buildings where they can come together to enjoy mutual interests.
On top of this, with many people now choosing to work from home, they have high-quality technology requirements. High-speed internet is no longer a luxury, but as standard as gas and electricity connections. With intergenerational living becoming more frequent in Australia, these amenities also need to cater to all ages.
These requirements are in addition to the standard convenient access to major public transport options and road infrastructure.
Country Garden has a strong track record of delivering these communities around the world. Our first Australian house and land project ‘Windermere’, in Mambourin, Victoria, is now available for sale and will ultimately feature over 4,500 house and land lots. Here, we will cater to all of these lifestyle demands, including the delivery of four schools – one private and three public.
There will be 6,000 square metres of retail space, 5,000 square metres of commercial space, rejuvenated wetlands, a childcare facility, community centre, recreation centre, a swim school, playgrounds, walking trails, sporting ovals, and netball and tennis courts.
Windermere has been designed to meet the changing needs of the residents for generations to come and to deliver on current ideas of what makes a great community.
