Elevate your poker game with this US$24,000 Louis Vuitton chip set

As COVID-19 shut down workplaces, non-essentials and most sports leagues, thus forcing much of the world indoors, Google searches for ‘how to play poker’ rose rapidly since the end of March and online poker reached a five-year peak.

If game nights have become a lockdown staple in your home, a certain French luxury fashion house has created a poker set to rival all others.

The latest edition to Louis Vuitton’s ever-expanding made-to-order games collection is a sleek US$24,000 monogram poker set.

Inspired by its suitcase-style ‘President’ case, it features golden metal brass fittings, interior leather lining, natural cowhide leather trimmings and signature LV monogram print.

Inside the case, you’ll find a Louis Vuitton-branded deck of cards, dice, chips and two embossed brass paperweights. It’s both a fashion statement and a stylish way to carry a full poker set.

And it’s not the only insanely expensive product the fashion house released to keep its shoppers entertained during isolation.

Louis Vuitton’s luxurious leather Foosball table features hand-painted players modelled after its ‘Groom’ (the character from Louis Vuitton’s 1921 advertising image), while the house’s flower monogram is embossed into the counting chips used to keep score.

The players are operated by sleek handles covered in cowhide leather for a comfortable grip. And the price tag? No less than US$71,000, obviously.

Continuing the gaming theme, the brand then dropped its first billiards table. Available in the iconic monogram motif, the table also comes in the darker Monogram Eclipse and Damier Graphite.

It’s finished with tanned cowhide leather corners and hand-pressed metallic hardware, with each stud engraved with Louis Vuitton’s signature.

Add-on options include custom-made balls painted with LV's flower motif, monogrammed cues, and a stamped triangle.

Both tables are handcrafted by the same arm of Louis Vuitton that also works to create custom, made-to-order trunks and cases, some of which have been used to carry things such as the FIFA World Cup and NBA championship trophies.
