Woolcott St celebrates its winter collection with whisky tasting and onsite barber

Dressed in dapper suits and sleek cocktail dresses, more than 150 guests gathered in the heart of Sydney for a celebration of bespoke tailoring with Woolcott St.

With the suave 2019 winter collection on display, attendees perused a range of the finest Italian and English fabrics used by leading fashion houses including London’s iconic Savile Row.

Between exploring the latest styles and crisp textiles, guests nibbled on dainty dishes and sipped on refreshing drops.

A rustic grazing table by Panniere Cheese and My Kitchen Rules former semi-finalist David Vu’s canapes (salmon and poke on rice paper crisp, vegetarian netted spring rolls and Vietnamese vermicelli salad with grilled pork) set the scene for delicious food.

Friends of Woolcott St were treated to an intimate whisky tasting by The Dalmore. Indulging in the intricate flavours and aromas of the Scottish single malt proved to be a popular experience.

And for those without a penchant for the golden liquid, Peroni, SAMPLE Brew and flutes of prosecco floated around the chic Work Club Global at Barangaroo in Sydney.
Woolcott St offered a rare insight into the making of tailor-made suits, although not before offering guests a sleek new haircut at the onsite Chifley Barber chair, which left many freshly groomed.

Established by Michael Vlassis and Jake Nolan in 2016, Woolcott St strives to add a touch of luxury to all its garments while achieving the pinnacle of tailoring – from business attire and casual outfits to something special for a memorable occasion.

Learned artisans create Woolcott St’s bespoke pieces with expertise handed down over generations – a dedicated skill of a bygone era. And one guest was able to experience the fine custom-tailoring firsthand, with their very own tailor-made top coat worth A$2,500, while another won a custom-made sports coat.

Heavier wool blends and dark, rich fabrics are being favoured by men this winter, and Woolcott St is injecting bursts of wine red, emerald green and deep blue hues – creating a modern twist to beautifully personalised products.
