If you’re planning an incredible holiday or simply preparing for frequent work travel, you might want to make note of the top airlines for 2020.
AirlineRatings.com, the world’s only safety and product rating website, analysed major safety and government audits including fleet age, passenger reviews, profitability, investment rating, product offerings and staff relations to determine the winners of its Airline Excellence Awards.
For the sixth time, Air New Zealand has been crowned Airline of the Year, as well as Best Premium Economy.
"In our analysis, Air New Zealand came out number one in most of our audit criteria, which is an outstanding performance when it’s up against carriers with more resources and scale on this same list of best airlines for 2020," says Airline Ratings Editor-in-Chief Geoffrey Thomas. "Air New Zealand’s commitment to excellence in all facets of its business starts at the top with outstanding governance and one of the best executive teams in aviation through to a workforce that is delivering consistently to the airline’s strategy and customer promise."
Meanwhile, Singapore Airlines was honoured with the Best First Class award, Qatar Airways took out the Best Inflight Catering and Best Business Class awards, and Qantas won best Domestic Airline Service and Best Lounges.
Best Cabin Crew and Best Economy went to Virgin Australia for its spacious cabins across both international and domestic flights.
Emirates took the prestigious titles of Best Inflight Entertainment and Best Long Haul Middle East airline.
