Textron Aviation extends its comprehensive servicing options

Australia may be a smaller private aircraft market compared to other regions in the world, but that doesn’t mean its local clientele can’t receive the same level of dedication to specialist servicing as other countries. Textron Aviation this month reinforced that notion with the announcement that Premiair Aviation, an Australian-owned company, is now authorised to service and support all in-country Cessna, Beechcraft and Hawker turbine aircraft models through its own service centres.

Taking this route ensures that owners and operators throughout Australia have access to enhanced convenience and quality customer support at its three dedicated locations across the country. The move comes shortly after Textron Aviation strengthened its Asia–Pacific footprint by acquiring Premiair, which has bases located at the Gold Coast, Melbourne and Perth.

"We have significantly invested in employee training and equipment over the last year to expand our capabilities and ensure CASA approval for the full range of Cessna Citation, Cessna Caravan and Beechcraft King Air aircraft in Australia," explained Bradley Mortimer, General Manager, Premiair Service Centres.

"Today marks an exciting milestone in the Premiair journey. It demonstrates our ongoing dedication to delivering exceptional quality and seamless support to customers in Australia."

The certificate of approval issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) also covers non-type rated piston or turbine aircraft not exceeding 5,700 kilograms (12,566 pounds) as well as piston or turbine engine helicopters not exceeding 3,175 kilograms (6,999 pounds). Most importantly, this specification covers the majority of general aviation aircraft types actively flown and operated in Australia.

"Premiair will continue to pursue new certifications, add technical capabilities and expand its MRO capabilities," added Mortimer.

"This is part of Textron Aviation’s continued investment in the Asia–Pacific region aimed at delivering the best aviation experience to our customers."

Flying stronger than ever

Textron Aviation currently leads the Asia–Pacific market with approximately 1,400 aircraft operating in the region alongside an installed base nearly five times as large as the closest competitor.

Despite its smaller population, Australia is one of the company’s largest markets with more than 50 new turbine deliveries between 2013 and 2020. This makes Australia the company’s fourth largest turboprop market to date.

The latest announcement will ensure that Textron Aviation’s Cessna, Beechcraft and Hawker models currently in operation in the country will continue to fly seamlessly into the future.
