Highlights: The CEO Magazine’s inaugural International Women’s Day lunch 2020
They say when women support each other, incredible things happen, and this was certainly true at The CEO Magazine’s International Women’s Day event for 2020. Over 60 of Australia’s top female executives converged on the beautiful Park Hyatt in Sydney to collaborate, communicate and celebrate with each other for IWD.
Pip Marlow, Salesforce CEO; Jane McNally, Camilla CEO; Nicole Sheffield, Australia Post Executive General Manager; Alyce Tran, The Daily Edited Founder; Jane Lu, Showpo CEO; and creative entrepreneur Samantha Wills were among the guests who came together to talk values, authenticity and the importance of finding the balance between the masculine and feminine. As The CEO Magazine’s Content Director, Susan Armstrong said; "Being fiercely feminine isn’t just an essential trait in the workplace, it’s what the world needs right now."
Kristyn Haywood from People for Success delivered a thought-provoking keynote presentation, setting the groundwork for an afternoon flowing with game-changing discussions among the many guests.
"For me, International Women's Day is a reminder of what we’ve achieved – me, my colleagues and my friends – but also a reminder that we have a long way to go," Knight Frank Partner Sarah Harding said.
Many of the executives reflected on the women who broke glass ceilings before us, and what needs to happen in the future to change the agenda on gender.
"International Women’s Day is an opportunity for us to shine a light on the amazing contribution women make at every level within our community and society," said the CEO of Starlight Children’s Foundation, Louise Baxter.
