Trump tells May to look after her own backyard

Donald Trump has told British Prime Minister Theresa May to not "focus on me, focus on the destructive Radical Islamic Terrorism that is taking place within the United Kingdom".

His tweet, which was published just minutes ago, follows the official response from the PM's office in regards to his controversial retweeting of videos from far-right party Britain First.

The spokesperson for Ms May said the President was "wrong" to share the tweets because Britain First used "hateful narratives which peddle lies and stoke tensions".

Specifically, Mr Trump retweeted three videos tweeted by deputy leader of Britain First Jayda Fransen. The clips are titled ‘VIDEO: Islamist mob pushes teenage boy off roof and beats him to death!', ‘VIDEO: Muslim Destroys a Statue of Virgin Mary!', and ‘VIDEO: Muslim migrant beats up Dutch boy on crutches!', and warn users first about the sensitive material.

Taking advantage of the unlikely support of the leader of the free world, 31-year-old Ms Fransen then used the media attention to ask for his intervention after she was arrested earlier this month for comments she made in a speech in Belfast.
