MAMS Infra Projects’ CEO proves knowledge can defy age in business
Eleven years ago, when Mehsan Arshad finished his master’s degree, he was offered a job buying luxury real estate. Yet, he declined the opportunity.
"Instead, I wanted to invest in social services, bringing improvement to the society with returns to the stakeholders," the CEO of MAMS Infra Projects and MBH, a venture between MAMS and Bin Ham Groups, tells The CEO Magazine.
MAMS Infra Projects, part of MAMS Holdings Group, provides building services to clients across the globe. As a UAE-based international company, the business offers customers the "accessibility and support of a local firm".
"We started with the concept of affordable homes, upgrading our expertise to urban smart homes with cutting-edge technology," Arshad explains.
A graduate of engineering, Arshad then pursued a master’s in strategy project planning from Edinburgh Business School at Heriot-Watt University in Scotland.
After his international studies, Arshad was invited by the International School of Business in India to become certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP).
The CEO’s portfolio includes more than seven years of experience in several sectors such as infrastructure, engineering, commodity trading and information technology.
He is also heavily involved with not-for-profit organisations and runs various campaigns across the globe. The entrepreneur was proactive in the launch of a 2012 affordable smart homes project, valued at about US$250 million.
As the CIO and board member for The Private Office of HH Sheikh Theyab Bin Khalifa Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Arshad was also in attendance at Sir Anthony Ritossa’s exclusive 10th Global Family Office Investment Summit.
The prestigious event welcomed elite family offices, prominent business owners, sheikhs, royal families, private investment companies and industry professionals from across the Middle East and around the globe.
Being at the helm of the business, Arshad is aiming to continue to build on MAMS Infra Projects’ mission statement: "Safely deliver projects, anytime, in any environment for the benefit of our customers, shareholders, employees and the communities we serve."
By providing infrastructure, houses and services, the business hopes that over time it can help lift the population that’s living below the poverty line.
"We don’t want to gain profit for ourselves alone; instead, we want to share our profit with the end-users," Arshad explains.
He adds, "We are able to keep our costs down due to the sheer quantity of homes we build."
